Accurately dado, groove, plow or rabbet. Work with wood, laminate surfaced plywood, particle board, vinyl surfaced materials, solid surface materials, engineered woods, metal faced or foam materials. Dado materials up to 2½" thick. The Panel Router does straight line dado work efficiently and economically (see FYI: Panel Routers in a CNC World). All cuts are plainly visible when cutting. Each machine comes equipped with two blind dado stops for housed in dadoes or blind dado cabinet assembly. (Use our Shelf Dapper to dap the horizontal pieces quickly and safely.) The Panel Router is safer and faster than a dado head in a table saw or radial arm set-up. Plus the Panel Router delivers an even depth of cut!
The Panel Router requires just one operator. The fence is set at a convenient working height to reduce operator stress. The self-lubricating bearings on the carriage maintain carriage tolerances as well as easing use. The vertical position of the workpiece is easier to handle, plus gravity and the clamps keep it squarely in place. This simple straightforward approach to dadoing has made this machine a vital part of many workshops, large and small.
Horizontal grooves or dadoes are as easy as pushing the workpiece through the machine. Just lock the carriage at the desired position, then push the material through. The Vertical Index can be used to templet all your horizontal grooves, dadoes or rabbets. The Panel Router comes equipped with a templet system for quick easy vertical dadoing (see FYI: "Using Templets to Get More out of Your Panel Router"). This templet system makes duplication fast and precise. Do small pieces easily, accurately and safely using a fixture templet (see
FYI: Endless Possibilities with Templets and Jigs).
Many things can be accomplished using this machine and a wide variety of tooling. There is a customer using the Panel Router to make mirror edges in solid surface material for seaming. The Panel Router is being used to make slat wall, cutting out the rectangle vent hole in pre-fab mobile home walls, miter folding on aluminum faced material, and the list goes on. The Panel Router uses very little floor space for the size of workpieces it can handle. This machine was designed to be a time, material and labor saver, and it has proven itself to be just that!

The Crown Shoe rides on the surface of the material resulting in a uniform depth of cut. |

Use the hold-out lever [1] while changing cutters or for housed-in dadoes. Use the carriage depth control eccentric nut [2] to adjust for varying material thickness. By using this eccentric nut, the cutter will not drop down and cut into the slats when coming off the workpiece. The Panel Router will adjust for material thickness from ¼" to 3½", although materials over 2" require the clamps to be modified.

The cutter depth adjustment knob [3] is used to set the depth
of the cut. Being on the front of the carriage assembly, depth
adjustment is accomplished easily and safely. The depth lock [4]
secures the depth adjustment knob and keeps it from moving.
