The screw-on style allows for easy and quick changing from a
dull cutter to a sharp cutter without having to reset for depth or position. When a cutter
is replaced, the arbor acts as a positive stop ensuring the same depth of cut.
The downward shear action ensures a clean cut in most materials.
The open throat allows the cutter to run cooler, thus extending the life of the carbide. The
open throat was also designed so that it blows the debris clear of the cut.
All cutters and arbors are ¼"-28 threads. Cutting length is 9/16" for sizes 7/16" thru 1-1/16" Sizes from 1-1/8" thru 1-1/2" are 11/16" cutting length. We use micrograin carbide on our cutters. We use the hardest grade (without being brittle) of carbide to increase the life of the tooling. In terms of cutting, it means that it can cut a wide variety of materials.
